Ride Report: May 28 Platte River to Chatfield Reservoir

Time: 1.5 hours
Distance: 22.1 miles/ 276 feet elevation gain
Average speed: 14.2 MPH
Weather: low 70s
Ride Grade: B+

Good ride today! 🙂 I was anxious at the start, due to the rough start last week, and the fear of falling. It’s had a major impact on my riding…less than willing to head out, for sure.

But, today was good. To start with, we moved the ride to the trail head, rather than from the house, removing the scary road riding. We had excellent speed. The trail was excellent, from Englewood, to Chatfield and back.

Things that were bad:

1. All the kids on the trail: one who stopped at the narrowest part of the trail, and almost caused a major collision. Another who wanted to ride ride across the trail in front of me. A third who wanted to ride on the wrong side of the trail.

2. All the Damn Bugs. Seriously. gnats all over the place.

Other than that, it was good.
